Early Neurological Stimulation, or ENS, is a series of exercises performed on puppies between the third and sixteenth days of life, in order to help them have an edge developmentally. According to Dr. Battaglia, who is an AKC judge as well as the director of the AKC, doing these five exercises on each puppy once a day can give them stronger heartbeats, heart rates, a faster adrenaline system when needed, more resistance to disease, and a greater tolerance for stressors for the rest of their lives.
